How Phone Charging Station Rental Works
A clear walkthrough for venue operators and event producers: how guests rent, what hosting includes, how events differ from permanent installs, and how this compares to buying stations from US distributors.
For the guest (so you can explain it in one sentence)
Guests download the free Power Packs 2 Go app, find a station on the map, and rent a 5000mAh Power Pack with three built-in cables (USB-C, Micro-USB, Lightning). They charge on the move and return it at any station on the network — not just where they rented it.
Pricing shows in the app before they confirm; a card hold is placed and released on return (see current Rental Terms). That transparency matters for trust at hotels, malls, and family venues.
For the venue (hosting)
Hosting is designed to be low-friction: we provide the hardware, install it, keep it stocked, maintain it, and handle bilingual customer support. You provide space and an outlet.
Choose the model that fits — free-standing SS-24, table-top TT-12, or compact TT-5 — and decide how much branding you want on screen or wrap. You are not staffing a phone desk.
For events (time-boxed deployments)
Stations can be deployed for the length of a festival, conference, or activation, and wrapped for a sponsor. We handle setup, support, and teardown.
Producers often sell the hub as part of a sponsorship deck: amenity for attendees + logo presence + screen time. That is a different commercial conversation than a permanent mall install.
How this differs from “buy a kiosk” US models
Some mainland players market station purchase, revenue share, and passive income calculators. Those calculators are typically hypothetical scenarios with disclaimers.
Power Packs 2 Go’s core venue motion in Puerto Rico is hosting and sponsorship on an island network — guests can return packs across locations, which is the product advantage for tourism and multi-stop nights out.
Checklist before you say yes
Confirm power availability and safe cable routing.
Agree placement for visibility without blocking egress.
Align brand rules if a sponsor is involved.
Decide EN/ES signage and staff one-liners.
Set a simple success metric: weekly rentals, guest comments, or sponsor delivery report.
FAQ
Do guests leave their phones in a locker?
No. They take a portable pack with them — lower liability and better guest experience than unattended phone cubbies.
What if a pack is not returned?
Governed by rental terms and the hold process disclosed in-app. Ask us for the current ops playbook when you host.
